From its founding in 1976, Ticketmaster set itself apart by offering a new, better way to buy tickets. The company revolutionized the ticket-buying industry with its computerized ticket vending system, which let a person buying an event ticket select from the total reserve of seats available. This was a major shift away from the long-standing previous system, which involved ticket buyers forming long lines outside of a box office with a limited number of allotted tickets — only to discover the box office was sold out or superior tickets were available elsewhere.
Because of its ahead-of-its-time system, Ticketmaster became the world’s leading ticket distribution company. Today, it continues to leverage the latest technology and innovations to hook ticket buyers up with the best seats to venues around the world. Ticketmaster offers tickets to thousands of events, from concerts and theater to sports games. It strives to put fans first with a fan guarantee, three-day return policy, no-hassle exchanges and interactive seat maps.
